----------------

1. What is PEGASUS PRESTIGE used for?

PEGASUS PRESTIGE is used to detect osteoporosis and to safely follow up on the patient's treatment of the disease. Contrary to DEXA systems, PEGASUS PRESTIGE is non-ionising which means that it is a harmless technology. An unlimited amount of examinations can be performed on the same patient without any risk of danger.

2. What indicators are delivered?

After the examination, PEGASUS PRESTIGE provides you with the T-Score, the Z-Score, the BUA (Broadband Ultrasound Attenuation), the SOS (Speed of Sound) and the STI (Strength Index). As defined by the World Health Organization, the diagnosis is made using the T-score.

3. What is the T-Score?

The T-Score measures the deviation of the patient from the norm in the young adult population. The computer calculates the difference between the patient's exam results and the result of a standard healthy bone structure at its peak.

4. What is the Z-Score?

The Z-Score calculates the difference between the result of the patient today with the result of the average patient of the same age.

5. How much time is needed to perform the examination?

With PEGASUS PRESTIGE, the assessment of the bone status can be taken in less than 1 minute (scan time <20 seconds)

6. Can I use PEGASUS PRESTIGE in portable mode?

Yes, PEGASUS PRESTIGE has an integrated PC and can be used in portable mode as well as in desktop mode (with a computer screen). PEGASUS PRESTIGE is small, compact, easy to carry and self-contained which means it can be used whenever, wherever it is needed.

7. PEGASUS PRESTIGE is equipped with a built-in computer, so why do we need a printer, screen & mouse to be connected to it?

PEGASUS PRESTIGE can be used in portable mode: results appear on a small LCD screen and a printed ticket shows the patient's results. In desktop mode a more detailed examination report is provided as well as the possibility to store a full digital database of patient information. Desktop mode requires connection to a screen, keyboard and mouse in order for it to function as a normal computer. A printer may also be connected, in order to provide print-out examination results.

8. Can PEGASUS PRESTIGE be used for monitoring & for follow up (checking up on patients' progress)?

YES (see answers above)

9. Does PEGASUS PRESTIGE require any special supplies such as a special gel, cleaning liquid, etc.?

PEGASUS PRESTIGE is sold with ultrasonic gel and thermal printer paper rolls. The probes can be cleaned with normal water.

10. Are there any special maintenance requirements?

No, only the probes need cleaning as described in the user handbook.

11. Do I need training on PEGASUS PRESTIGE before using it?
